Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and though he began playing guitar at an early age, it was not until 22 years when in-depth study of the guitar. His first major influence was CharlieChristian. After being part of bands Marjorie Hyams in 1948, Red Norvoand Artie Shaw 1949-1953, 1953, decided to form his own group. In 1958 he married and disappeared from the music scene for ten years, during this time was spent to paint signs. In 1969he recorded the album as a leader Tal Farlow The return of 69 for the Prestige label. It was not until the late 70's when his career was revived in full.
