B. B. King

Riley B. King better known as B. B. King (by its former nickname "The Street Blues Boy King"), born September 16, 1925 in Itta Bena, Mississippi, is a famous blues guitarist, blues and jazz composer.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, King is the greatest guitarist alive, and ranks third among the "100 greatest guitarists of all time" (behind Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman).It is known for calling his guitars "Lucille", a tradition that began in the 1950s, 2 and even composed a song with that title referring to the way your guitar changed his life.In 1947, B. B. King began recording songs under contract with Los Angeles based RPM Records. Many of King's early recordings were produced by Sam Phillips, who later founded Sun Records. King was also a disc jockey in Memphis, where he earned the nickname "Beale Street Blues Boy", later shortened B. B.

In the 1950s, B. B. King became one of the biggest names in modern R & B, with an impressive list of successes under his belt that included songs like "You Know I Love You," "Woke Up This Morning," "Please Love Me," " When My Heart Beats like a Hammer, "" You Upset Me Baby, "" Every Day I Have the Blues, "" Sneakin 'Around, "" Ten Long Years, "" Bad Luck, "" Sweet Little Angel, "" On My Word of Honor, "and" Please Accept My Love. At 80 years, March 29, 2006, King played at Sheffield's Hallam Arena. This was the first part of his tour of the UK and Europe.He did this tour with the blues become ex-shredder/rockero Gary Moore, with whom King has previously made other tours, including the song "Since I Met You Baby." The tour ended on April 4 with a concert at Wembley Arena.In July, B. B. returned to Europe and then decided to make his farewell in Switzerland, playing twice (2 and July 3) in the fourteenth edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival and also in Zurich at the "Blues at Sunset" on July 14 . During his last performance at Montreux, Stravinski Hall, played with Joe Sample, Randy Crawford, David Sanborn, Gladys Knight, Lella James, Earl Thomas, Stanley Clarke, John McLaughlin, Barbara Hendricks and George Duke. The farewell tour concluded in Luxembourg on September 19, 2006 at the D'Coque arena.

Live in Montreux, July 2006Between November and December, King played six times in Brazil.During a press conference on November 29 in Sao Paulo, a journalist asked King if that would be the final farewell tour. King replied: "One of my favorite actors is a man from Scotland named Sean Connery. Most of you know him as James Bond, 007. He made a film called Never Say Never Again."
